French much?

Hi guys!! this post i would like to talk about this patisseries which if you guys tried even once..you eventually craving to come back...seriously..whats more to say when marvelous patisseries La Chocolatine is near to my house..it just awesome! so the owner of the shop is a French Pastry Chef and his Malay business partner so the end up opening La Chocolatine Patisserie, Salon de Bistrot..FYI the french owner do have cute ass though...oppss hehehe The ambiance of the place was like if you were in France..hehehe is just different..so my tante treat high-tea for me..im not sure what does it called but the texture was like chocolate mousse with three different layers but it also looks like a cake....okay now im confuse! what the what am i eating?! but i remember green tea and she ordered latte..and there was one time my dad bought a really nice patisseries and also croissant since that was my mum favourite..

Trip to Medan Day 3

Day 2 was the hectic day of all since we all walked so much that i can feel my foot begging to stop..in Day 2 me and my parents and Uncle Nik and Guntur went out for dinner at Garuda House..we first planned to have dinner at Mendailing because of mis-communication with the driver Angkota lastly we end up at Garuda House..we went back to hotel room by riding Bentor which is Beca Motor..it is the same trishaw that you guys found in Malacca but here it was upgraded using motorcycle instead of bicycle..i think Malaysia should have this to the trishaw otherwise i will pity the old man cycled the trishaw while im just finish eating and start to bloated and become heavier..i can imagine what does it looks like to watch that old skinny man cycle with their effort..damn! More journey of Day 2..

In Day 3, as usual after morning breakfast around 9 am we started our journey to all of the malls in Medan by riding Bentor..sort of i think..im pretty sure they only have 3 malls in Medan or so was i thought..we went by 3 Bentor..first Bentor, my mum and dad and second Bentor, me and Uncle Nik and last Bentor,Guntur on his own..but nothing much to see anyway in the mall..just a bunch of clothes that making me want to scream! after that we went back to Pasar Ikan Lama and strolled back to the shops there and my mum bought more kain telekung and kain telekung for kids, one for aira and one for sophie..the kids telekung is the cutest..with dots of Strawberries..

For lunch, we went to Mendailing yess finally! we went there by Angkota and they served so many many dishes like almost 20 dishes on the table and its feels like i have to hold my plate to eat..that shows how many of the dishes..and eventually there are some rules to eat Padang cuisine..

"Only take what you want to eat"

Why? because if you eat the dishes, they charge the price depends on the dishes you ate...either it is finish or you just take little bit, it will charges as you ate the whole dishes in the plate..

So my tips are:

1- Decide what dishes you want to eat

2- The dishes that you dont want to eat, put it aside 

    or ask the waiter/waiters to pick them up.

3- Never touches the dishes that you dont want to eat

4- Finish up the dishes that you choose

That night, Uncle Nik and his assistant went back to Malaysia while me and my parents had our dinner at the restaurant in the hotel..

Trip to Medan Day 2

Day 2 on the journey in Medan..BTW we went around by riding Angkota which the real name is Angkot Kota means picking up to the city..actually the same kind of tuk tuk but they called it differently in Indonesia..its a sort of a van with big stereo and fits lots of people, seriously packed!!..its one of the transports here other than taxi as taxi cost triple but its cozy and chilled...anyway if you want the adventurous i definitely recommend to ride Angkota, it just worth to try..who ever missed my Day 1 to Medan..

Second day, we went walking by foot to the shop from couples of block from our hotel...okay fine! not couples of block but so many blocks okay and so far away we been walking...we started walking in the morning as planned after breakfast at the hotel...as usual i had that conversation with Uncle Nik...about food silly! hahaha well its kinda funny and really knowledgeable information to talk to someone with experience while i only have the knowledge..it really does open my eyes on certain things..like we were talking about tea which the orange pekoe is the most expensive tea, shape like a ball and when you poured hot water its will eventually open like a flower bloom..that is priceless experience man!

We walked and walked while enjoying the view in the city...well to be honest..its not mainly the view of the city but the view of the shops that sold many clothes and also kain batik and stuff...hehehe and that time we walked passed through Dian Pelangi Boutique..and all of the sudden, out from nowhere Uncle Nik searched for baju batik to wear for formal occasion..and this idea pop up in my mind 'Let go to the next boutique' which the next in line was Dian Pelangi Boutique...hehehe and they all agree..we went in to the boutique and i was like i need to buy something here..and the owner of the boutique, Ibu Rina shown me the dresses and the outerwear and asked me to try it on...its kinda awkward though because she was like really wanted me to buy as if she knows that i really want to buy it...so lastly my money burn and fly to that cashier..she does gave good price since i bought unusual batik outerwear and Uncle Nik bought unusual pattern of baju batik..she gave us 15% discount or in Indonesian the called Diskon..so both of it cost 1 million rupees..

So that was the story i burn up my money in just few seconds..true story though..haha

That night, we went to Garuda House for Padang style dinner..the place was the cleanliness restaurant i ever seen and it was well maintained..the food there also quite nice..we went back to hotel room and rest all night..

Long unemployement holiday

I've been lazy starting few months ago since i just finish my Diploma in food technology..still waiting for result degree intake 2012/2013..cant wait! im so excited that i already find condo to live in..okay my bad!! too excited since end of February now i been working with my dad..well its Mr.T decision to stay close with family though because fasting month is coming so it would be convenient to stay with family and enjoy fasting and do lots of deeds..cross-finger

So what happen last few months? hurm let see i've been moving around to Phuket again and then to Hatyai twice and Koh Adang too and also Rebak island and food-walking with my tante and her little angel..i stat exercise for few days and its stays for that few days only..well i tried okay! so now i cut on my carbs little bit because i dont exercise regularly but i did move a lot so that can be consider as exercise i think...grin hehehe

Well apparently i did loose weight little bit...i lost 3 to 4 kilos..OMG!! even my mum realize it and she start to feed me with all the stuff and i was like What!? she's the one that been bumbling that im fat and bla bla bla...and now she want me to more and more...this is insane!! hahaha

Here i come

Its been a month since i last post in my blog..WOW i thought it still a week since i get back from Phuket...a month??? you must be joking me calender!! well i when there quite few times already but this time me and my dad and also kak ris when all around mall in Phuket..FYI i think there only 3 big mall in Phuket but really far from each other..so what happen was i stay at kak ris's house for 5 few days..and we went around..

One night kak ris want to bring me along to watch late night movies in cinema..guess what!! i already watched that movie in Malaysia 'Chronicle'..its about 3 kids gain superpowers after they found a big hole and they make a discovery about it around the place that they go party..to be honest for me the movies sucks!!the camera is moving all the time and make my head spinning and i did have headache..what makes it funny is that kak ris want to make a surprise for me...without not knowing that i already watch latest movie..so im not suffer myself by watching the same movie twice so she made her friend change the ticket for me...so i watch in Phuket cinema by myself with Thai subtitles an English movie call 'The Grey' which an airplane crash on Alaska and the survivors have to survive from a tribe of wolves which s big as the wolves in Twilight Saga but in this story the wolves didn't change to human though....

First time i watched movies in Thailand cinema and BTW before the movie started i have to stand up since they play the national anthem song...at first its a little bit awkward because first i have no idea how the song sound so i didn't familiarize with the song and second i seat in middle row but most of others seat at the back seat..so in this case im the one that seat in the front from everybody else...luckily i saw this foreigners stand up from the corner of my eyes..thank god they didn't do that here in Malaysia..imagine how many times you have to stand up if you are planing to watch movies all day long...

The next day i woke up really late since we arrive at her home around 2 in the morning..my dad didn't like to watch movies so he just when straight to bed..the next morning we when pre-shopping at Living Homes that sold furniture and stuff but it's almost look like ikea..they have cafe open up upstairs so we when for brunch there and me and my dad ordered salmon...well that cafe sold quite cheap though..you cant get good salmon dishes for about 20 ringgit in Malaysia..usually 30-50 ringgit..

What a day

Hye guys....FYI i did missed my flight to Langkawi due to a very very long queue at commuter station...and i was about to cry and i taught that maybe i could use my touch n go card and since i didn't use the card at all and reload it then i just realize that balance in the card is only 80 cent...and i burst into tears while i walk around to find touch n go re-loader booth....it takes me half an hour to find it and reload it and when back to the station....and since i walk so much my feet feels hurt and then i saw that the commuter already arrive an i run as quick as i can up an down the stairs with that heavy luggage of mine till im out of breath and i missed the train!! i was so upset and i cried so loud that i forgot people that watching me crying at that time...

So plan B is that i when for CNY at my auntie house in Bangi...after thinking for a while there then i decide to take the risk by taking bus yesterday...and i make it!! thank god!! when i arrive in Langkawi i just take a really quiet and long nap...later that evening my dad called me up...and he told me that we are going out for dinner at The Loaf...its about 45 minutes from my house..

When we arrive there, i was looking with my dad the pastries and cute little bun...i ordered shrimp and avocado salad while my mum and my dad ordered big county farmhouse, its omelette with sausage, mushrooms, chicken bacon, tomato,thyme, leek and fresh crispy green salad and also some kind of seaweeds and slow roasted chicken breast which i tried and love it! so for drinks i ordered complexion which is combination of apple, carrot and tomato juice freshly squeeze and waterfall which i forgot what it is but it is about the same with complexion but they put some ginger in it..

My tummy wishes

I suddenly have an idea to make a post for today...i know its kind of late and im still in office...well sometimes work sucks...and what make it more fun is that what did i do after work...me and Nurul when to buy grocery for our beloved takyah nk beloved sgt la kn home...we just keep forgetting to make grocery list and we always left certain thing behind like dish washer liquid...hahaha luckily im going for interview tomorrow so im not gonna wash any dishes today...i dont know why but this week we walk a lot...and i buy new mattress because the old one making my back in pain and look like grandma walking....err am i that bad? gosh!! 

After buy all the stuff my tummy make this rapping song and we stop by at Ice Room....im so desperate to ate that Mango Pomelo snow ice that i dream about eating it...luckily im not sleep-walking to Ice Room and order it....hahahaha so since Nurul phone still in ward so i use my phone to snap the pictures..and sorry guys if it does not look superb gorgeous...damn phone!! need to change new one...the snow ice does not look like the picture in the menu...ni yang nak marah ni...

In the menu looks so tempting with lots and lots of cube fresh mango...but in that green bowl i count its about 5 or 6 small cube of mango...huhuhu maybe next time i bought my own mango cubes...mcm ni restoran bapak ak yang punya....hahahaha sambil gelak jahat...but the snow ice looks really tempting...when i look at it i just scoop it and almost eat it and Nurul was like screaming...i thought that there is something in the snow ice...but she laugh and said wait she want to take photo first...im so forgot to take a picture of it..but after that first bites i took some with covering the digging place that i scoop...i mean big scoop...

Homemade sandwiches

I don't know why lately, i'm so into sandwiches and salads nowadays....maybe it is a call to change my taste a little bit...so i when to supermarket last Friday after work...so today i want to share with you guys about making your own chicken baguette with ceaser salad..it was the quickest meal i have made...within 5 minutes i can have my dinner ready...how about that?

Chicken baguette

1 loaf of baguette

1  fresh tomato, sliced

1 big size of red onion/ yellow onion, sliced

6 sliced of chicken sandwiches

1 whole lot of salad

Mayo and chilli sauce/ ketchup depends

First, cut the baguette horizontally because you need to stuffed it later...then spread some margarine..after that, stuff up the baguette with salad, tomato slices, onions, and chicken sandwiches...well be creative on that okay guys..last but not least, squeeze mayonnaise and chilli sauce or ketchup of what you favour..

1 whole lot of Romania lettuce

1 fresh tomato, chunky

As much Croutons as you like

Parmesan cheese

Dressing:

1/2 cup of olive oil or EVOO extra virgin olive oil

1 clove garlic, crushed

1 tsp worcestershire sauce

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp vinegar

1/2 tsp mustard

Firstly, separate and break the lettuce and washed it thoroughly...let it dry and put it in a fancy bowl..afterward, add tomato chunky and Parmesan cheese either chunky or shredded...its up to you though..then, take another bowl and mixed all the dressing and whisked...next, pour the dressing into the salad in the bowl...just not to over-soaked the leaves and last but not least, sprinkle croutons on top..

Freaky lunch

Around lunch time me and Nurul when to the bank instead of post office to pay our home bill and so we when to the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) to pay our bill...as i thought that when it is about paying bills then it should be at the counter of that company..but then again i realize when i was 18, i when to post office with my tante to pay her bills..so just i about to think that only that two places are where you should pay your bills, then this morning one of the QC lab technician told me that i can also pay my bills there..and it was so convenient and quick..its only takes about 5 minutes..and here this...i when there during lunch hour!!! 

After that, Nurul and me decided to have lunch at that area but there are just to much restaurant around there and we were so blind by the foods in that restaurant and that is when we realize that the table already full..thank god we didn't take any plate and put the dishes yet...fuuhhhh!! later then we decided to ate at the food court and it was lovely...i ordered nasi ayam berempah and Nurul ordered nasi ayam penyet...after few minutes enjoying our meals, we suppose to take cab to office but unfortunately there are no cabs that want to stop and vacant that time....huhu

Westernize diet

Yesterday, i was in a hurry as boss given to our chef a task in making 4 kind of pasta sauces: Bolognaise, Carbonara, Marinara and Napolitana...so that was the day chef, me and Nurul when for emergency grocery shopping at Tesco...while searching for the ingredients, my eyes was caught on that beautiful baguette...i have no idea why i call it beautiful...am i in love with baguette?? ooh gosh!! even today i'm still thinking about baguette for my dinner tonight...its been awhile since i last ate sandwiches..usually at home my mum loves to make sandwiches for lunch which a little bit lighter and heavy dinner..and FYI it is simple to make...you dont even need to use fire to fry or cook anything..simple sandwiches only...and his is the first time i ate sandwich baguette...and i love it!! but not as much as i love sandwich croissant..and ate that sandwiches with salad..last night i ate ceaser salad with chunky tomatoes..i noticed that my stomach need to explore new foods rather than the same dishes for 2 decades now..wow that does sound long!!

Froyo addiction

Although some might say that it is a bit expensive but i think i does too...but the taste of it make me addict...since before i am addict to ice-cream..last time, since my friend works at Baskin Robin...i always when there for a scoop of ice cream...either strawberry cheesecake or love potion....it is my favourite..since i when to campus which far away from home...same to my addiction...i keep it quiet an let me forgot about that addiction..now it rise back...with much more healthier version...frozen yogurt..but only certain of it...well i'm really choosy with what i ate...some people might mixed all the flavours or toppings...but what i did was i make sure that toppings and flavours blend in with each other...like yesterday i choose raspberry flavour with marshmallow, strawberry, kiwi and chocolate chip..i'm a bit disappointed that there are no cheerios breakfast cereal yesterday..they did change the toppings most of the time..maybe next time i might sneak a look at cheerios schedule then...hahaha FYI i am glad that i was born healthy and free from lactose intolerance...if not...can't imagine what that i been missing with all the ice-cream, yogurt drink, and frozen yogurt even the milkshake...i'm lucky then!! 

Triple cheesy

Well it's been amazing how time passed by so quickly...i just remember myself at the age of 18 but in a blink now i'm almost 21, i mean in 4 months time...gosh, that was quick!! as usual i would spent the short holiday, 3 days off at home by cuddling myself in my bed with teddy for days....but this time it was a little bit different...i want to make it special...i don't want to wake up next day in new year of 2012...it was like waking up to the future..but this time i'm going to my Mak Long's house which one and a half hour from my house..so not a big deal anyway....at least i did spent time something to appreciate and say goodbye to 2011....and hello 2012!!

Since days i been thinking about eating Domino's pizza the new cheese burst double decker!! i dont think much i just ordered classified chicken topping for cheese burst double decker and side order cinnastix and cheese onion ring...and i love it!! its only take them to delivery it about half and hour and withour delivery charges..the cinnastix is a sweet dessert make of pizza dough with sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar an frosting dip...as i opened my door to take my pizza..the smell of that pizza make me craving like crazy...one bite of it make you fall in love with that pizza and thank God for creating such a beautiful thing call cheese!! when you eat it when it is still hot, that pizza give you a mouthful of cheese and white sauce which blend together and melt inside your mouth....

But that evening i when to my Mak Long's house and day after that, me and my cousins when for dinner at Pizza Hut and tried Ultimate Cheese 7 pizza and to answer the question of the ads...i definitely can handle the cheese!! but the trick is....you must eat the pizza when it is still hot...otherwise the feel and the cheese wont be the same...it is best to that bite on hot pizza..and yesterday me, nurul and hem when out to get meals and we all end up at Pizza Hut...and for me it was like back-to-back pizzas 3 times a week....but this time i ordered something little bit different than usual...cheesy lave stuffed crust with beef pepperoni toppings and mushroom soup and meatball bolognaise together with creamy carbonara...Perfectto!!

Yesterday, after work we when straight to Dataran just to explore some of the shops that we didn't yet been explore...and guess what!! now did i know where is Watson is...usually i only just saw and when to Guardian...well after that refreshing-walk-for-eyes me and Nurul when to Tutti Frutti...it is just opening this month here and i think it is worth to try out here..i don't know why but there are a lots of people in that shop...well what are you waiting for lets try frozen yogurt!! there are to many flavours and we pick original tart so that it will match with variety toppings that we wont feel like vomiting later...hahahaha im just that fussy in choosing food and most of all the taste should be match in another words it should compliment each other and even that you think that it doesn't look match but if you taste it it would be absolutely amazing together...

So its time to choose the toppings...we put lots of cute little marshmallow, chocolate chips, Cheerios cereals, smarties, peaches, mangoes, fresh strawberry until its totally full....and it does look tempting to eat...the 'catch' it the frozen yogurt it sell by weight...so per 1kg is about RM58....yes!! it does expensive...but it is healthier meal to eat...and FYI healthy meals does cost...so with that gigantic cup i just can assume that we wont be eating milk or dairy product of week or maybe a month...hahahaha and we ate it while walking back home..by the time we at the house im already full....

p/s: BTW bob if you read this...do feel jealous...muahahahaha

Chillax at Ice Room

Last week me and Nurul when to Ice Room since i been thinking about it for days...and for days i have to pursue Nurul to go to Ice Room...and the day have come...so i have no idea what's got into us..i mean like it been whole day that we ate cold drinks include breakfast...and that day was so cold and cloudy....its look like it going to rain but it didn't..right after work we when straight to Ice Room and we ordered Fresh Strawberry Fruit Snow Ice instead of Mango Pomelo Snow Ice...it takes me 10 minutes to decide which i want to eat...all the snow ice look tempting..maybe next time i would try out Mango Pomelo Snow Ice and Tropical Mixed Fruit Snow Ice...

With the taste of the snow ice match with the thick strawberry syrup and the fresh strawberry compliment each other and also with sweet corn and selasih...anyway, i'm pretty sure Daily Fresh also have snow ice but without the extra fresh fruits topping and it was lovely...it is called Ice Kimo...i had tried Soursop Ice Kimo...im kind the type of sour person so  basically most fruits that i like i bit sourly side..such as strawberry, lime, pomelo, soursop....it doesnt matter what it is...i just love snow ice!!
